Jennifer Smith is an award-winning television producer-host that has created and produced film and TV programming for USA Network, ESPN, FOX, Conde' Nast Entertainment and others.  She is best known for her ground breaking, hard-hitting approach to youth programming.


Her work as creator, producer and host of the award-winning USA Network teen series YOUTHQUAKE and of several documentaries and primetime specials on issues facing teens such as AIDS, drug addiction and education have earned her critical acclaim as well as the Cable ACE AWARD for Best Magazine Show for YOUTHQUAKE.  Additionally, she was recognized by government agencies and committees for her approach to teen programming and the YOUTHQUAKE series which aired on USA Network and was syndicated in 26 countries.​



Smith has enjoyed a career spanning two decades as a TV and Film development executive and producer, as well as an on-air television and radio talent.  She has developed and produced programming for USA Network, Rysher Entertainment, Discovery Channel for Kids, ESPN, FOX Sports, Group W, the NHL, NFL Alumni and many others.  Most recently she co-produced an EMMY AWARD nominated series for Conde Nast Entertainment/ GQ magazine, Casualties of the Gridiron.  The series chronicles life after concussion-filled football careers for a group of retired NFL players.​

She has also produced projects for athletes and entertainers creating TV, film, live events and book projects.  Highlights include: TV , DVD and live events with Shaquille O’Neal in partnership with the MGM Grand in Las Vegas featuring sports and entertainment stars such as Jamie Foxx, Jimmy Kimmel, Jimmy Johnson, Emmitt Smith, Monique, Queen Latifah and others, Ray Charles concert DVD and pay-per- view special, an ESPN documentary about the Lombardi Packers WITH LOVE AND RESPECT co-produced with Dick Schaap & Jerry Kramer, CD collectors set INSIDE THE LOCKER ROOM, THE LOST LOMBARDI LOCKER ROOM TAPES and THE NFLA ALUMNI CHALLENGE for Carmike Theaters/DigiNext Entertainment.


Jennifer steered the marketing, distribution and programming efforts for the NHL’s entry into original television programming. Her vision developed the TV series NHL COOL SHOTS seen on FOX and ESPN where she also functioned as an NHL on-air TV and radio talent and appearing on the NHL’s syndicated radio show for Westwood One.​

As talent she has hosted successful TV and radio shows including programs for USA Network, ESPN, FOX, MSG Network, KTCK "The Ticket" sports radio, NHL radio Westwood One, wellness radio for WABC New York, KABC in Los Angles and others.  She appears regularly on national outlets including Fox, CNN HBO and others as a sports industry expert on concussion, behavioral health and lifestyle issues related to retired athletes.  Smith started in the entertainment business as a teen actress working on projects such as the film Semi Tough, Dallas TV series, Ron Howards Cotton Candy and others.


Jennifer Smith has a unique and diverse background that successfully combines a career in the entertainment and sports industries. Previously she has served as the Vice President of Marketing and Broadcast for the NHL Buffalo Sabers, broadcast consultant for the NHL and collaborated with Academy Award winning film producer Stuart Benjamin (Ray, Officer and a Gentleman, Labamba) to create a production company and more.

Her work in sports led her to co-found the nonprofit Gridiron Greats Assistance Fund with Green Bay Packers Guard Jerry Kramer and legendary NFL coach Mike Ditka.  While working with the player assistance and advocacy organization she coordinated a United States Congressional and Senate hearing to address issues related to concussions and benefits for retired NFL players.


In her twenty-year career in the entertainment business, Jennifer Smith has earned a reputation for creating and producing award programming and developing unique broadcast strategies.  She brings this with her to her current project, the 2017 reboot of her hit teen series YOUTHQUAKE which includes a fresh look, updated interactive format and a comprehensive digital component along with educational and nonprofit elements to complement the revival of this award-winning youth oriented series.​
